On Friday, March 24, 2017, Omoni Oboli was served an injunction that halted the Nigeria premiere of her much talked about movie, Okafor’s Law which is set for a nationwide release in Nigeria on the 31st of March.
In 2016, a Canada-based writer, Jude Idada, had accused Omoni Oboli of stealing his story and idea for her movie.
Omoni however remained silent over the issue , many thought this was over as she went ahead to set a release date for the movie for March 31, 2017, with an exclusive premiere set for today, March 24, 2017.

He also revealed that he had not sought an injunction as he didn’t want the film to be pulled from the Toronto Film Festival, where it had its premiere, but his next line of action was to contact his lawyers.

They however ensured the audience that the movie will be released in no time and ready for people to see.
Speaking at the premiere, an emotional Omoni breaks down as she reassured her fans that she wrote and developed OKAFOR’S Law originally and the idea is hers.
